Whats going on with this site?

Has anyone else gotten a warning about this site disappearing? An email form just popped up, asking me to contract the owner and leave a message to let them know that they may loose their "network"

Did Synthetik forget to pay it's bills, or is something else going on?

I think 8 months is more than enough vacation time. Is anyone at Synthetik doing any development work at all?

  • Tony,

Yes. I saw the same popup. A bit unsettling.

  • I got that warning too, I sent a nice message through that email form. I hope John is ok.

  • I hope he's fine too. But if he wants his business to thrive, he really needs to engage with the users, more. Owners can't just take off for three months and expecty things to run smoothly.

Is his support guy still around, -I haven't checked?

This product has huge potential, but if no one is actively developing new features or improving old one, all his customers are just going to wonder off and use someone else product. Some, have already wondered off.

    • Been hoping for a verion 6, but have heard nothing. And yes, I too got the message that this forum is at risk.

  • To  John I have no idea what you are going through. However the impact you have made not to continue with the user forum and your desire keep it as a permanent feature as promised in the past is a big shock. It also betrays the faith and love we have shown in you and Studio Artist.  Bluntly spoken, it sucks. That you have chosen to follow this direction in silence, allowing no compassion or understanding on our part is a betrayal of the deepest level. What is going on? This is not the John Dalton I have known all these years.I regret writing such an angry response. However you have gone too long and too far on your path of silence. I wish you well and hope u and your family are or will be in good health.

     Sincerely,Paul Perlow
  • Sadly, it does appear the SA Ning site here is sunsetting.

Many, MANY thanks for all the SA users here who have inspired and edified and contributed cool things.

Thanks too (once again) to John and his crew for many years developing great software and a great community.

Mostly for me, SA has been FUN sotware. One of a very few applications that actually was fun to use and fun to play with. If the Ning site is going away - all hope that SA is not also.

  • This is not a good sign...

Is anybody making a copy of all the material in the Tutorials Forum

Since the Forum is going away in June, has anyone started to make a copy of all the stuff in the Tutorials forum?I've made copies of some of the tutorial material on the main site, but haven't looked at the Tutorial Forum yet.I'm going to continue copying as much as I can for my own personal use anyway, but if anyone else is doing it, or has already started doing it, please let me know.Maybe we can co-ordinate our efforts. ps can't ..... believe John, would let this happen without so much as a…

Studio Artist is in Italy!

I was crawling the streets of Matera, Italy today and may have discovered where SA is hiding!  (see attached photo). Not meaning to make light of this great, sad mystery. But I just couldn't resist as I try to make sense of what's happening. Losing my connection to SA, Synthetik and John has been a great sadness... and if real, ends a monumental era in my creative life. love,~Victor
