Read more…I was crawling the streets of Matera, Italy today and may have discovered where SA is hiding! (see attached photo). Not meaning to make light of this great, sad mystery. But I just couldn't resist as I try to make sense of what's happening. Losing my connection to SA, Synthetik and John has been a great sadness... and if real, ends a monumental era in my creative life. love,~Victor

Wonder how you negotiate with it?
Here's a cheap kickstarter kit for an XY stage painting robot. Some assembly required.
So... automated paint by number with color bleed...I doubt it's capable of intentional blending without enhancement. Pretty cool in a novelty sort of way.
I don't think their software control is very sophisticated at this point.
I signed up as a supporter to their kickstart campaign to get one. So assuming their kickstarter campaign gets fully funded and they do their production build, I might put together something as an output option so that Studio Artist can drive it directly. At that point it might get a little more interesting as far as what you could do with it. You can't beat the price, $295 for the kit.
That would be pretty cool, If you do get one up and running with SA... I hope you post examples if it works. That could be fun.with water colors, Each print might be noticeably unique due to how paper texture can effect color bleed..Not to mention you get the added bonus of having a genuine watercolor painting as opposed to a more conventionally printed simulation of one.
