Art and Computer Vision

So as a part of my image database research i stumbled upon an interesting talk (for me) with Pietro Perona, who is a professor at Caltech who studies the visual system and image processing and computer vision and does a lot of image classification and image understanding research.

SO most of this talk is probably over most people's head, and kind of boring because of that.  But i thought the section that starts at minute 40 in the interview on Art and Computer vision people here on the user forum might find interesting.

Here's a link to the video interview.

The whole part about how famous painters actually misused some aspects of perspective to accent how people perceived a portrait of a face was fascinating.  Some of you may already be familiar with this, if not it's kind of interesting.

Side note, it's the kind of visual edit one could make potentially make with deep learning systems to an image.  I'll be blabbing a lot more on that whole concept over time.
