Batch Processing a clip

Hey gang,

I'm soliciting ideas for a challenge I have.  Here's the situation.  I have a video clip that I want to render out using a number of different PASeqs.  Roughly 11 in all.  The clip is about 30 seconds in length and I'm trying to figure out how to automate the process so that I can essentially 'fire and forget'.  I want to start the render process and come back when all 11 clips have been rendered.

The solution I've been able to come up with so far is to render it all out in one PASeq and then chop it up later in Final Cut Pro. Anyone have a better solution?

  • Studio Artist 4 has a PASeq feature called Batch Process, located under the main Action menu. There's 2 different options there, with paint action sequence and with folder of paint action sequences.

So for your particular case, it sounds like you would want to batch process with a folder of paint action sequences. So put your source movie file into a folder. And put your PASeqs into a folder. When you run Action : Batch Process : with a Folder of Paint Action Sequences you will first be asked to choose a folder of PASeqs, then to choose a folder of source material to process with the PASeqs, then to choose your output folder.

Studio Artist will then perform your batch processing, putting the rendered movie or source image files into the output folder. SO if you only want to process one source movie multiple times with different PASeqs, then you need a folder of your PASeqs and a folder with your single source movie only in it.
