So I have a new laptop and this is my first time using SA on it. When I try to save a canvas I like, I keep getting a popup error. First I attempted to save as a JPEG, then as a JPG.
Here's a screenshot:
How can I fix this? What's the issue?

I submitted a ticket. I'll share the fix here once I get help, in case anyone else runs into this issue.
I looked at the tech support ticket associated with this, and it looks like the issue was using the File : Export : Export Selected Canvas menu command without the canvas being selected. This export command is a specialty thing we added for people who wanted to output small images from a selected area of the canvas, like if they wanted to paint different images or textures they would then save to sue as image brushes.
There is a known problem with using this export command in V5 if you haven't selected anything in the canvas. So if you are going to use it, make sure you select the appropriate area of the canvas you want to save. Again, for normal canvas saves this is not the menu command you should be using.
If you just want to save your canvas as an image, you should use the File : Save Canvas as menu command. This saves the entire canvas as an image, and doesn't have anything to do with the selection buffer.
