Paint Synth Memory question/request

I was wondering if a paint synth memory buttons exist (or are in the works) for future builds of SA 4.  I've found them quite useful in my explorations of the MSG engine and would love to have have something similar for other operation modes.  I'm familiar of the memories accessible through the menu, but I find them to be a little counter-intuitive as I have to access them using the menu and, unlike the MSG memory button bar, I don't have a visual reference to what that patch looks like.

I didn't quite get what to do with memories up until SA 4, but now that I've incorporated them into my workflow, I find them to be very fast and very useful.

  • You can actually access the paint synthesizer patch memories via command links in the paint synthesizer evolution help page in the integrated help browser in studio artist 4.02.

You can record, play, randomize, or random load a random paint preset using the associated command links in there. The path memories are also accessible near the bottom of this help page.

I think we're going to provide a preference selectable toolbar in the editor when in paint synthesizer operation mode that will have all of the old paint synth memory buttons available there. Not sure when this will be added but it's on the list of things we'd like to see added.
    • Thanks John,

I used the memories via the help browser and they work better for me than the menu based memories. I'm excited to hear about the the work you're doing with preference selectable toolbars though. Looking forward to seeing them.
    • John, this new setup is quick and a blast. Saves me lots of clicks when I need to make some new Patches. For all Operations, I now leave the Help panel up on the right side permanently.

I have yet to experiment with customizing any features other than the workspace, but I will.
