Region Selection Issues

Hey guys, I'm encountering some problems with region selection in my PASeqs. I've created some region selections with rectangles and then use the paint synthesizer or image operations to process the masked region. I keep the mask turned on until the paint synthesizer or image operation has finished rendering. Works fine until I play back the PASeq. The selections work as they should for some of the operations and seems to be ignored completely by others. Here are my settings for the Mask and layer playback:

The operations I'm applying are the sketch mass io (compositie space set to replace -- this is one of the operations that seems to completely ignore the region selection) an MSG patch (have no problem with this recognizing the region selection) and an auto region fill as brush paint patch (which also ignores the region selection mask) Anyone have any ideas as to what's going on?

    Okay, just ran another test with a stand alone sketch mass operation and I'm still getting the same effect; the region selection mask turns off when I play the PASeq back even though it was turned on when I recorded it. Not sure why this is happening...

    Okay, think I figured it out...didn't have the region selection mask turned on when I actually created the region selection which seems a bit bizzare?

    Workflow for PASeq that yielded desired output.
    1. Turn on PASeq recording.
    2. Zero everything out. Turn off the canvas masking selection off and erase the canvas.
    3. Turn on the canvas masking selection.
    4. Turn on onion skinning (to see where I need to draw my region selection)
    5. Draw a rectangle region selection
    6. Apply sketch mass image operation.
    7. Turn off PASeq recording and canvas masking selection.

    There is a bug associated with PASeq's and mask playback when processing movie files or running animations we fixed in the a6.3 build.

      Good times. This might sound weird, but I'm starting to enjoy working with the early builds of SA4 because of instances like this. I'm forced to really think about what I'm trying to do, and be a little more focused and creative in my troubleshooting. A nice by-product of this is that I'm learning how SA works (and is supposed to work) more thoroughly.

Is anybody making a copy of all the material in the Tutorials Forum

Since the Forum is going away in June, has anyone started to make a copy of all the stuff in the Tutorials forum?I've made copies of some of the tutorial material on the main site, but haven't looked at the Tutorial Forum yet.I'm going to continue copying as much as I can for my own personal use anyway, but if anyone else is doing it, or has already started doing it, please let me know.Maybe we can co-ordinate our efforts. ps can't ..... believe John, would let this happen without so much as a…
