Regiondraw AutoHatch

I received the following question from a customer that i will try to answer here so that everyone can take advantage of the discussion.

Default
Auto Sketch
Region AutoHatch
I used to be able to go in to the editor and change it's path start setting from Max Stroke 40000 to 990000. I can no longer exceed the 40000 setting.
I would also like to be able to figure out how to just change the overall size of the brush stroke or pattern that it makes. Currently, if I want a smaller brush stroke, I have to double the resolution of the image so the size of the stroke is relatively smaller and then resize it back down to the resolution I wanted originally.
Is there a way to just scale the size of the preset brush? I have gone through every category in the editor and cannot find a way to make the rectangular hatches that this preset creates, smaller. I can change every other attribute about it imaginable but I can't seem to find a way to just make the little squares smaller.
1. You can't exceed 40,000 currently in version 4 for the Max Stroke setting. You could try setting it to -1 if you need it to run longer, although i'm unclear why that would be the case. The -1 setting for Max Stroke (Path Start control panel) is typically used for things like grid scan path start generators so that they will always run to completion no matter how big the canvas is.
2.  There's 2 different components to the brush size in this kind of preset. There's the actual size of the brush nib that is drawing in the individual lines in the grid patterning, and there's the size of the auto-hatch pattern itself. To increase or decrease the size the the hatch rectangle, you adjust the max path size (path shape control panel).
This is because the path shape type is set to Use Region Draw Pen Generator, and the auto-hatch grid is a series of painted lines (as opposed to being a source brush image that looks like a hatch pattern).
The size of the paint nib drawing the hatch line is controlled with the normal brush source and brush modulation controls. The spacing of the hatch lines is determined by the Region Spacing control in the Pen Mode control panel. And the fill pattern for the auto-hatch drawing is being determined by the Region Fill Type control in that control panel.
