You use the Canvas : Resize Canvas menu and associated dialog to do it.
If one wants to rerender the canvas one must check both ResScale PASeq and ReScale History and then the rerendering process can take place through either manually replaying one or the other, as in 3.5.
But...what if "SuperSizer" is checked as well as both ResScale Paseq and ReScale History, would that rerender an even larger canvas if either the paint or history were manually played back, or would it be rerendered to the same size?
Not exactly;
The resizing is done in the boxes labeled H and V for Horizontal and Vertical, if you want to do by percentage. If you want to specify an exact pixel size or inches you can do it in the boxes labeled New Size.
The functions you mention Supersizer, on interpolate or bicubic interpolate are different algorithms for processing the resize. The ReScale Paseq and ReScale History work the same as they did in 3.5.
SO the answer to your last question is that the canvas will be rerendered to the size or by the percentage that you input. Checking the history or paseq resize will scale the "brushes" by the same amount.
Note that if you input a percentage less than 100 you will be scaling down or shrinking the image.
The get current source size button is useful in many ways but particularly where you have swapped out sources without starting a whole new project.
Hope that clears things up a bit
