src skip question

Hey all.

Question about how the src skip movie preference works.  Have a 1800+ frame clip that I'm working on.  I set the src skip preference to skip every 2 frames and I am using the source movie timing.

When watching on PASeq playback, I don't see the skip occurring.  The frame indicator in both the source movie and in the PASeq continue along continuously without a break in numbering.  Am I missing something or does this only show up in the rendered movie?

  • If you look in the bottom right side of the status area at the bottom of the workspace when running the Action : process with paint action sequence : source to movie menu command you will see the skip taking place, and an appropriately smaller number of total frames listed. So the output movie will be appropriately shorter.

There's a bug in 4.03 where the source movie in the source area transport doesn't unload when you run an action : process menu command. So that could be what you're seeing. If you run a process movie to movie action command it gets confusing, because the movie you specified in the command is being processed but whatever was in the source area appears to stay there during the processing. We fixed this in the 4.04 betas.

Running Animate doesn't use the skip frame movie preference settings. they only apply to Action : Process menu commands that render out a movie with a PAseq.
