The Studio Artist 4.04 update is now available. You should have received an email containing a download link for the Studio Artist 4.04 application build for your registered platform (mac or windows). As always we also sent out a second email to everyone in our version 4 customer database letting them know that they had just been sent a 4.03 upgrade download link.
The download links are good for 14 days, so please download the new 4.04 application file now.
You will need to manually move the new Studio Artist 4.04 application file to your main Studio Artist 4 folder to replace the old Studio Artist 4.03 application file located there.
The 4.04 application file needs to be located in the main Studio Artist 4 folder when it is run. If you try to run the application file outside of the main Studio Artist folder, you will get an error message. The application uses presets and dynamic plugin libraries that are located in the main Studio Artist folder, and needs to physically reside inside of that folder in order to find those plugin libraries and presets.
If you move the new 4.04 application file to your main Studio Artist folder before running it, you will not have to re-register the new application with your version 4 serial number.
Studio Artist 4.04 contains both bug fixes and feature enhancements. Everyone running Studio Artist 4.03 should switch over to using new Studio Artist 4.04.
If you are a version 4 customer and did not receive the 2 upgrade emails mentioned above, the first thing to do is to make sure your email client did not mark them as spam or place them in a trash folder. This is the most common error we find when customer claim they did not receive upgrade emails from us. It's important that your email client does not mark emails from synthetik.com as spam, so that you receive any upgrade or other information emails we send to our customer base. You can always contact techsupport AT synthetik DOT com if you need a 4.04 upgrade download to be resent to you. Please email that address as opposed to posting here if you need a download link resent to you.

In a strange unanticipated turn of events over the weekend my posts about Steve Jobs in describing the films I've uniquely done about him -- described merely in text, not even the videos themselves, have apparently themselves gone Viral right on Facebook's own special Steve Jobs page -- indicated by 200,000 new, ongoing "Likes" over the past 2 days. They now link the 08-26-11 New York Times article on Steve Jobs where my first two posts are included as Comment #75. Facebook had previously included my TechCrunch posts on Steve's page, but now replaced with the NY Times related link.

For those not on Facebook, here's the last comment I made on the Steve Jobs Facebook page responding to comments about my post by adding this explanation:
Yes, I own the footage which was done totally on my own volition. Videoed from late afternoon when it began till it ended that night catching key moments for which I've keen instincts & intuition. I was not working for hire. As a known NYC artist, prior engineer, even worked directly for Nobel prize winners in Astrophysics, won awards for my filmmaking & earlier jet pilot experience, I was already convinced Apple was the ongoing future. The deeper story is always key for me & I was super aware of the evening's. MoMA had awarded me a solo evening in their largest theater a year before. Do believe the person best served by this would be Steve. I'm open to thoughts.
