Hi,
I'm painting a video.
Is there a way to make a selection to attach itself to a specific point on the canvas for each frame?
thanks
Apple has released some new software that will require my upgrading to their latest OS.I'm worried that by doing so I will break SA 5.5Does anyone here use SA successfully with Sonoma 14.5?Any info is greatly appreciated.

Leonardo. Other than the use of Beziers and key frames I don't think so.. unless the selection was such a unique color that it could be captured with a hue range.. I do know John is working on a facial recognition selection but in addition to not yet being available it would only help if you were tracking a face. John might have a better answer for you.
ok thanks.
Let's wait for him.
I'm not sure i totally understand what you are asking for.
Let's assume you are selecting a rectangle (but it could be any selection shape, i'm just using that for the point of this discussion). So you want the rectangle to move around as the movie progresses. You can currently keyframe the position of the rectangular selection, and it will linearly interpolate between the different keyframe positions you have specified. So you could manually specify tracking via keyframe the selection action step based on your source movie file.
If you want to specify a point or local area in a single movie frame and then have the selection automatically track that point or local area in future frames in the source movie, you can't do that in the current release version. We are working on things like that for the future.
Not sure what tools you have access to but you could create a traveling matte in After Effects or Final Cut Studio, export that matte and then load that into Studio Artist as your selection as well.
Hi John,
I'm still trying to get that Van Gogh paint style.
At this time I would like to paint only the beard of a person in a video making a selection around this Am I clear?
What you think?
