    i used the stamp feature in photoshop. i don't know why it's blue. there's an iMovie effect that would work too in bw. msg probably has something close.

      i was hoping not to bother with photoshop as i dont have it...effect was just right tho, thanks!
      i will delve into imovie...tho i know somewhere in SA that effect could be created.

        it's "edge work" in iMovie. i'd look at the bw effects in msg.

        The other thing to try would be Smart Contrast with the BW Hard Contrast setting. And then either threshold that or set the 3 smoothness controls to the same setting to get rid of the grays. Depending on your source image that might be a better hard contrast representation.
